Mothers in red: Teej comes to the courtyard

Mothers and grandmothers danced, the children sang, and UKG served the fruit they had washed and cut themselves.

Our courtyard turned red for Teej, as mothers and grandmothers joined us in their saris and potes for an afternoon of songs and dancing. The children had been preparing all week: learning Teej songs in circle time, making paper bangles in the art corner and — in true Montessori style — washing and cutting the fruit themselves for their guests. Thank you to every family who came. For many of our youngest children it was their first festival away from home, and they spent it dancing with their mothers.
